| To do today: Read Jeremiah 52 I have 6 books left, and then I'll have read through the entire Bible! Then after that, I'll still need to read the Bible every day for the rest of my life.
Run 10 Miles at the Rose Bowl It was a good running day today! No cramps, no shin splints, and no fatigue until the tenth mile!
Dumplings for lunch The 3 cups of water method (1 cup each after boil #2, #3, and #4) always works!
Prep to burn a Christmas music mix cd Shane and Shane, Casting Crowns, BarlowGirl, The Carpenters, and The Nutcracker. Any other recommendations? Macy's to see if the 1-Day sale today is any good Read through BSF notes Gym tonight?
If no gym tonight: start Season 3 of The Office and play the piano!
| Is it fear or indifference that keeps us from talking to people we don't know (in a social setting)? Or is it appearances? Do we think that the other person is too intimidating, too mean-looking, too dorky, too shy, too loud, etc.? Then again, the other person could think one or more of these things about us! In the end, neither person steps out and initiates conversation. Why do we put up these walls and act like the other person isn't there? What do we gain by this? Me: I biked 7 miles in 30 minutes today, but last week I biked as fast as I could, and I biked 9.3 miles in less than 30 minutes! Dad: You aren't worried about your thighs being too muscular?
(because the new windows should make the house warmer) Dad: Hmm, it's still cold in the house. I guess when you're old, you're always cold. Mom: No, you're too skinny! BarlowGirl has written some great thought-provoking songs. Why don't they ever come to LA?
| I biked to the Rose Bowl and back this morning! It took 2:25 to bike 23.2 miles including stops at stoplights/stopsigns, falling off twice but not falling, a water break, and trying to help a lost puppy. Going to the Rose Bowl was harder since there's a slight incline on Colorado for most of the way from Santa Anita, and Colorado only goes downhill at Marengo for a block. Going back was much faster. Around Fair Oaks and Orange Grove, I saw a puppy wandering on the sidewalk with a leash but without an owner in sight. I biked past it at first, but then I felt guilty about not doing anything, so I turned around. I couldn't find the puppy anywhere, and I didn't see it on the street, so I think the owner picked it up and didn't leave it to get hit by a car. I hope. I had originally planned to just bike to the Rose Bowl and back, but it seemed to be a waste to go back right away after biking all the way there, so I did a leisurely lap around. I don't like biking in between all the cars. It's kinda like a game, "I think I can fit!" or "Will I fit in between those cars?" It's so much nicer to bike on the street when there aren't any cars to the left. If I could, I would bike in the middle of the lane. I ran three yellow lights on the way back. Hehe. Can you get ticketed for that when you're on a bike? On the way back, I wasn't paying attention to where Colorado forks off, and I ended up at Huntington, and I had to go back up Santa Anita to get home. Yay, an extra mile! We're changing the windows at our house! It'll be warmer now! Before I changed to the winter blanket on Wednesday, I was using a summer blanket plus three fleece blankets and sleeping with a long-sleeved shirt, a sweater, and pants. Now one blanket is enough. Shane and Shane sang "O Holy Night" at the concert last month, and I bought the CD just for that song. The rest of the album is just as good! | | |
| My food blog is ready! http://foodling8.wordpress.com Jason & Nolan are my favorite electric violinists. How many electric violinists are there anyway? | | |
| It's December! 26 days left until Urbana!
I don't like walking through the warehouse at work when it's completely dark outside. It's solar-lit. I miscalculated where the wall was, and I walked smack into the door of the conference room. My nose was hit the hardest. Haha.
So sleepy, but I have to stay awake at least until 10 pm!
